Notes: | The Tuhfat al-Nafis, the precious gift, is a historical Malay work containing chronicle events since 17th century. It records historical events occurred in several Malay states, for example Singapore, Terengganu, Melaka, Johor, and Riau. Quoted from Virginia Matheson (1971: 375-6), Sir Richard Winstedt states that the Tuhfat is the most important Malay historical work after the Sejarah Melayu. |
