Notes: This work was written in 1196 H. This is a commentary (sharḥ) to Tafsīr al-Jalālayn of al-Maḥallī and al-Suyūṭī. In this work, al-Jamāl describes what is found in the Jalālayn then explains the opinions of both al-Maḥallī and al-Suyūṭī. Then, he selects the opinions of other commentators on the topic being discussed and compares them with the opinions of the Jalālayn writers. Al-Jamāl also provides the audiences with the explanation of grammar, morphology and variant readings of the Qur’an (qirā’āt), with special attention to the aspect of variant readings of the Qur’an (qirā’āt). Al-Jamāl also depends his commentary on the traditions of the prophet, the opinions of companions and the tabi‘in, previous commentators’ opinions including the opinion of his teacher, al-Shihab al-Ramlī al-Kirkhī, the opinions of al-Zamakhsharī in al-Kashshāf, Abū Ḥayyān in al-Baḥr al-Muhīṭ, al-Baghawī in Maʿālim al-Tanzīl, Abī al-Saʿūd in Irshād al-ʿAql al-Salīm and other commentators without doing an analysis of those opinions.
